James A. Anderson ’70 CLAS, ’73 CWSL was honored as the 2023–24 Teacher of the Year at Seton Hall Law School. This is the seventh time he has been so honored at Seton Hall, where he has been a full-time professor since 1987. In addition, Anderson was reappointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Rules of Evidence for his eighth term.

Joseph E. Comaty, PhD, ’71 CLAS, ’76 MS was elected fellow of the American Psychological Association from Division 55, Society for Prescribing Psychology, at the association’s annual meeting in August 2024. He also received specialty certification in Serious Mental Illness from the American Board of Professional Psychology in October 2024.

1972

Harry J. Durso ’72 CLAS, ’74 MA, a poet and board member of the Robert Frost Foundation, had a third poem acquired by the Lawrence (Mass.) History Center to become part of its permanent collection. Titled “Walking in Lawrence,” the poem deals with the effect that the draft had on young men in Lawrence during the Vietnam War.

1973

Daniel M. DiLella ’73 VSB, the chairman of Equus Capital Partners Ltd. and also a principal of the firm, has been appointed honorary consul of the Republic of San Marino in Miami, Fla. In this capacity, he will serve as a representative of San Marino, a small, independent republic located within Italy, helping to foster cultural, economic and diplomatic relations between the country and the United States, and assisting its citizens in the region with consular services. A former member of the �鶹��� Board of Trustees, DiLella funded the establishment of the Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate at the �鶹��� School of Business, where he is chair of the Real Estate Advisory Council. He also holds leadership roles for Espiritus Nova: The Campaign for �鶹���, serving on the Campaign Executive Committee and as co-chair of the VSB Campaign Committee..

Marshall G. Palardy ’74 VSB completed his 50th consecutive season as a soccer referee. He is a National Referee Emeritus with the National Intercollegiate Soccer Official Association and a longtime member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.

1976

Paula Orndoff ’76 CLAS directed, produced and wrote Wardensville: Tales From Tiny Town, a feature-length oral documentary airing on West Virginia Public Broadcasting. The film, acquired by the Smithsonian Institute as an addition to Orndoff’s collection in their permanent archives, gathers and preserves the collective stories, voices and memories of the townsfolk of Wardensville, W.Va., population 379.

Christine M. Tracy, PhD, ’77 CLAS published her third book, Just Trust Life: A Journey With Teilhard de Chardin, a memoir chronicling her encounters with the life and teachings of Teilhard, a French Jesuit priest. In addition, she serves on the Council of Scholar Advisors for the Teilhard Project.��

Vincent S. Caprio Jr. ’79 VSB, a 9/11 first responder, was recognized in February 2024 with a state citation on behalf of the government of Connecticut for his bravery and heroism during the rescue and recovery efforts following the terrorist attacks.

Joseph Lewis ’81 CLAS published his third book, Rediscovering the Joy of Children & Family: Why the World’s Declining Birth Rate Crisis Can No Longer Be Ignored. In 2023, Miracle at the Mission, his suspense novel, won first honorable mention for young adult fiction from the Catholic Media Association.

1982

Marc S. Fisher, Esq., ’82 CWSL joined Gross McGinley LLP in its Allentown, Pa., office. With four decades of experience and knowledge in family law, education law and federal criminal defense, Fisher concentrates his current practice in education and municipal law, leveraging his extensive knowledge of zoning and real estate regulations to serve individuals, townships and businesses.

1983

Honored for her courageous leadership in the fight to end breast cancer, National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) President Fran Visco ’83 CWSL received the Presidential Citizens Medal in January—the nation’s second-highest civilian award. A former editor of the �鶹��� Law Review and chair of the Women’s Law Caucus, Visco has steered the nonprofit NBCC since its founding in 1991. Under her direction, NBCC advocacy has helped expand access to health care for uninsured patients and secure nearly $4.4 billion in new federal funding for innovative breast cancer research through the Department of Defense’s Breast Cancer Research Program.

Thomas H. Matese Jr., DO, ’84 CLAS was elected chairman of the board, HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, where he serves as program director and simulation director of Emergency Medicine Residency. In addition, he is a member of the board of trustees for the Benjamin School, an independent college preparatory school in Palm Beach County, Fla., where he and his wife, Anne, a pediatrician, are also the school’s medical directors.

Thomas O’Keefe ’85 CWSL stepped down after 32 years at the helm of Mercosur Consulting Group Ltd. and launched a legal practice focused on preventing and resolving disputes between natural resource extraction companies and Indigenous communities throughout the Americas.

Susan Foley Rocco ’85 CLAS, founder of Women to Watch Media, marked a significant milestone for her business with 100 videos produced. What started as a radio show launched in Philadelphia in 2012 now features a podcast and a newly launched YouTube channel highlighting women leaders worldwide.

Mark Powell, Esq., ’86 CLAS , a former Lackawanna County, Pa., district attorney, was sworn in as a judge on the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas in February.

Andrew D. Hoffman, Esq., ’87 CLAS joined the law firm Gross McGinley LLP as part of the Business Services practice group in its Allentown, Pa., office. Hoffman brings extensive experience guiding clients through multifaceted business transactions and intricate real estate development matters.

Gina Marie DeSantis Wilson ’87 MS published her third book and first novel, Silicon Valley East, an inspirational story of a tenacious young woman who shakes up the male-dominated tech world during the early 1980s.

Ken Fulginiti, Esq., ’90 CWSL opened Fulginiti Law in Center City Philadelphia, after 34 years in partnership with his prior firm. Fulginiti Law will focus on representing individuals and families who have suffered catastrophic injuries from the acts of others. Fulginiti is a past president of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers with decades of experience as a trial attorney.

Philip Repko ’90 MS published his first book of poetry, Pieces of April, partly inspired by an annual challenge he undertakes with his two sons to write a poem a day in April, which is National Poetry Month in the US. The longtime educator serves as a lower school dean of students at Renaissance Academy, a public charter school in Phoenixville, Pa.

Lisa Chase-Hernandez ’93 VSB was promoted to senior manager, Reliability Compliance Program, at Exelon Corp. In addition, she was elected to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standards Committee and serves on the NERC Project Management Subcommittee in the electric industry.

Claudine Andre Fritz ’93 COE joined Manhattan University in Riverdale, N.Y., as executive director of Marketing. She also earned a leadership certificate from the National Society of Leadership and Success and is now a level 5 student of Krav Maga.

Nnenna Lynch ’93 CLAS serves as chair of the board of directors of New York Road Runners, which organizes the New York City Marathon. She authored an op-ed, “Thank Goodness for the New York City Marathon,” which was published in the New York Times, on the subject of the marathon as a model of civic life.

David C. Mainenti ’94 VSB joined New York University as the chief administrative and business officer of the Rory Meyers College of Nursing.

1995

Jennifer A. Schrack, PhD, ’95 VSB, a professor of Epidemiology and Medicine, was appointed as director of the Center on Aging and Health at Johns Hopkins University.

Kristi Stinson, PhD, RN, APN, ’95 FCN was named the interim dean of the College of Nursing at Seton Hall University in June 2023. Stinson is also an associate professor with tenure and has been at Seton Hall since August 2013.

1996

Elaine M. Pohl ’96 CPS, a partner and insurance coverage attorney at Plunkett Cooney, was selected by Michigan Lawyers Weekly (MiLW) as a member of its 2024 class of “Leaders in the Law.” Pohl and the other class of 2024 honorees were selected by MiLW for, among other things, their significant contributions to the practice of law in Michigan, their expertise and their leadership.

Leonard A. Velez ’96 CLAS worked for the State Department at the US Embassy in the Philippines from 2021 to 2024.

1998

Allison Quinn Gamba ’98 VSB was one of four named plaintiffs who successfully settled a historic class action lawsuit representing 2,800 women against gender discrimination at Goldman Sachs. This defining case will create major change both at the firm and in the securities industry for years to come. This capped off a 17-year career in the investments industry, which began at the �鶹��� School of Business with a job Gamba was offered while interviewing on campus.

1999

For more than 30 years, Michael Blanche ’99 CLAS has been a thought leader in behavioral health around the Philadelphia region. As the cofounder of Ethos Treatment, a leading provider of care for individuals and families facing substance use disorder and mental health challenges, he has dedicated his career to supporting those in need. On Nov. 7, 2024, he was honored with the Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. During the gala celebrating the journeys of those in recovery, their families and the individuals who support them, Blanche was recognized for “his caring spirit and commitment to partnership.”

John Gallagher ’99 CLAS, a board member of the American Society of Home Inspectors who has worked in real estate development, construction and inspections since the early 2000s, proposed a legislative solution to protect the rights of consumers, known as An Act to Protect the Right of Consumers to Purchase Safe and Habitable Homes. The bill, which was signed into law by Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, seeks to prevent sellers from discriminating against buyers and protect groups such as veterans utilizing government-backed loan products that contain inspection requirements.

Joseph Gulino, Esq., ’00 CLAS was knighted by the Italian Republic, with the rank of "Cavaliere Ufficiale" of the Order of the Star. The managing partner of the international law firm DRRT, Gulino is also on the board of directors of the National Italian American Foundation.

Olivia Martel ’00 CLAS, ’03 MA published her debut novel, How to Fly, through Atmosphere Press. The book is a love letter to late bloomers and anyone who feels like they are somehow bad at life.

Paul Karagiannis ’08 CLAS married Kiki Bouikidis on Oct. 20, 2024.

Known admiringly as “Dr. Professor Coach” by the young athletes under his guidance, Henry Vu, PhD, ’08 CLAS, ’10 MA, led the Mishawaka Marian High School Girls’ Soccer team to the Class 2A Indiana state championship in Indianapolis, where they finished as state runner-up for the second time under his tenure. Off the field, Dr. Vu is a biology professor at the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his PhD in 2018. This year, he celebrated another victory when his research on the human-specific bacterial pathogen Group A Streptococcus was published in the February edition of Microbiology Spectrum.

Sarah A. Thompson ’12 CLAS married��Christopher Szadkowski in May 2023; together, in 2024, the pair founded Red Wolf Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping provide food, shelter, forever homes and medical care to red-listed and at-risk dogs and animals. In addition, Thompson became a partner at Ryther Law Group LLP and is a board member of the nonprofit organization Expand Animal Rights Now, for which she is also an attorney and rescue partner.

The book laid the foundation for NobleReach Foundation, a nonprofit he cofounded to put those lessons into practice.

With the world as her stage, �鶹��� Theatre alumna Taahira Davis ’23 MA achieved a remarkable milestone, earning a coveted spot in the prestigious British American Drama Academy (BADA) Midsummer Oxford Program at the historic Magdalen College, University of Oxford. Renowned for training top-tier talent, BADA specializes in classical theatre craft with a strong emphasis on Shakespeare. After an intensive month immersed in Shakespearean performance, Davis returned to Philadelphia and stepped into the spotlight as the lead in a contemporary reimagining of Antony and Cleopatra for the 2024 Fringe Festival. This June, she continues her Shakespearean journey with a role in Twelfth Night at The Stagecrafters Theater in Chestnut Hill, in Northwest Philadelphia.

Jared Plattman ’23 VSB received the Elijah Watt Sells Award, which, in 2023, was granted to CPA candidates who achieved a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the CPA exam. Of the 86,000 individuals who sat for the exam in 2023, only 40 candidates earned this accolade.
